 Hi, I'm
Judi Paul the artist behind the bears, airbrushed
paintings, and illustrations.
I am
originally from Derbyshire England but moved to the USA
at a young age and spent most of my growing up years in
Rochester Hills Michigan. I currently reside in
Wisconsin with my husband and three children.
Life is a
comical circus in our house but I wouldn't have it any
other way, and it lends itself for much inspiration in
my art. We live in the country on a 280 acre dairy farm
which we own and operate. My husband and I are avid
Ballroom Dancers and I am also a Registered nurse, and a
cheerleading dance team coach. I am also an insulin
dependant diabetic...but that has never slowed me down.
Aside from
all of this I am an artist. I have been drawing and
painting since before I was in kindergarten. I have won
awards in art over the years including two national
awards and made the top 200 Nationally in art when I was
18. After High school I attended an art school and
received two degrees in Fine Art and Commercial Art
which included a two year study in airbrushing. I worked
at the GM Technical Center in Warren Michigan using my
art and airbrushing skills.
I discovered the wonderful world of teddy bears in Jan
1999 and life has never been the same since. I
work primarily with mohair but also knit bears in a
variety of wools.
My bears have been published in
numerous magazines and have won many awards. Great
care and lots of love go into each creation as they take
on a life of their own.
